Aw man, what a great/sad story, I hope you find Keisha one day. I can imagine you had a lot of friends like that having lived all over the place. It reminds me of Fight Club with the idea of "single serving friendships."

I had a similar experience in elementary school and I was lumped in with being "a ghetto kid" too just because I was friends with anyone who would talk to me. But as I grew up and became a hot topic kid (oh god, nostalgia) in high school with the metal heads/stoners/skaters/whatever, the richy stuck-up kids still didn't like me, but the "ghetto kids" from elementary school were still nice to me because *gasp* it doesn't fuckin' matter!

 

Walmart has them!

 

But they're nothing like a poke cake.

 

In high school I got ostracized for not hanging out with all the other black kids. That coupled with good grades and the fact that I was always reading and actually respected my teachers lead to me being treated as if I thought I was better than all the other black kids.

 

At least once a day.
