only way I know of is seeing their HIT in Hitfinder or hitforker, and trying to accept it. You'll be met with a message saying they've chosen to block you from working for them. not that I'd know or anything.

Interesting. I thought purple was blocked. Purple means I am not qualified.

 

I hate to point out that this is incorrect, I am currently blocked from a requester with that message, everything else is right (all the other qualifiers I qualify for) and I get a nice big purple box in PC since the worker switch over.
