This looks like it's affecting regular Amazon accounts as well, not related to mturk.

I gave this HIT the benefit of the doubt a couple of times. But it is NOT worth it. At first, it will tell you the minimum bonus is $1.82. Then, when you click the link it drops to about $0.52. After that, you will continue to do screenings (sometimes the same ones you got disqualified for 5 times already) until you just give up. So you wasted 15-20 minutes for $0.02.
Extra Note:
Be cautious about when you do 'qualify' for a HIT. It will direct you to a survey and take 20+ minutes only for you to get to 90% completion and then to throw you out for all of a sudden not qualifying anymore.

This doesn't sound like news to me. Likely was a password dump and people had shared passwords.
