I'm getting old my back is killing me today. I feel how my dad does every morning

 

Does anyone just happen to know how to do this
I have an iPad that I was using with Verizon but I turned off the service with Verizon cause I never use it. I want it to still be able to send and receive IM's like I can do with my Macbook Pro, using my iPhone. Do I need to get another SIM card or how would I accomplish this?
