The taxes on it are a little more than THREE times what my other property is, which is only ~0.5 miles away, damn double frontage.

 

That explains why mine are so high..corner lot..triple lot as well...My property is worth more then my house in this crime riddled city..nothing is worth anything here really. I'm buying a house soon as well. Turk money is for business and down payment

Yeah, it varies from county to county but in mine you only pay the "frontage" aka what is street facing. So you can have, for example 3 acres and it's all vertical behind the house and if the front of your house only sees 1,500 sq. foot you only pay taxes on that 1,500 sq ft. It's pretty bogus IMO. It's not like there's any benefit to having double (or triple) street frontage. There's way more downsides to corner lots than there are pros.
