there's actually a lot of proof to this. he was so loved, they just gave him an out so he could stay clean and the nba wouldn't have the pete rose drama

Dude "GOAT" is just a phrase like "OMG" or "LOL" that people use colloquially at this point.. few people using it at any given moment are doing so to indicate they actually have done any rational break down of the pros/cons of entire careers spanning decades of basketball history, its just like "HOLY SHIT THAT WAS SO AMAZING THAT PUTS HIM IN THE DISCUSSION"

I think 'Bron & MJ are same category for modern day NBA players. I don't think Russel or really any of that era belong because at this point its not even remotely the same sport, and obviously you can't even compare MJ/Bron for similar reasons.

But LeBron is, individually, the obvious standout in this league today. Maybe Curry/KD could make their case if they weren't on the same team letting green lick their assholes every night, but they are so I want to kill myself when I have to watch Harden/Paul play basketball, so for me thats a no dog.
