Honest to god it's the best shit. Also clears up acne really really really well too. I had BAD acne and still do if I don't take care of it. All I do is wash my face and then instead of lotions I just put on some coconut oil and lightly blot some of it off. Leave it on overnight and BAM no fucking acne

 

SPF ratings are largely used for marketing, but really only help for elevation changes. You need about 15 at sea level (20 to be safe) and add one every 400 feet jump in elevation.

Also, make sure you get sun block, not sun tan lotion.

Depends how thick the clouds are. You can get sun brun from snow too. It reflects off the water.

 

I don't burn easily (I turn fairly brown lol), but I don't take chances! I slap spf all over and I set a timer on my phone. I also wear a dorky hat and I cover up my arms at least part of the time when I'm doing any desert or beach hiking/hiking without much tree cover.

We were at the race track and half the girls looked all sexy and whatnot. I was wearing a blue bucket hat and liberal amounts of sunscreen.

AFter a few hours in the sun you end up feeling more hot having the sun on your skin than if you cover up and clothes that breathe.

 

Love when I find something in freezer I forgot about and don't have to cook. Leftover chili tonight baby!

 

I don't know what happened to me. I used to tan when I was little. After about age 13 I just stopped tanning. I'll turn bright red, swell up, break out in hives (just from a few hours of sun). After all the pain and suffering, I go back to being pale. I even tried tanning in 30 min increments... Just didn't work out for me. I decided to embrace my paleness.

I usually alternate between my dorky plaid hiking shirt and the tanktop or t-shirt I have underneath it while I'm hiking, depending on the day/where I am. It's typically worked the best for me personally. I try to limit the ability to sweat so much I feel grody, so I have jackets/shirts with vents and dweeby shit like that.

One of the interns at Scaled makes fun of me and my high UPF shirts, but man, they are super helpful for being able to cover up and not get as hot cause they block more of the sun out. I found one of those Artic Cool shirts at the thrift store too recently and I was dubious about whether it would actually keep me any cooler, but I did feel less gross and fairly comfy when I was faffing around the mojave in it.
