This coming Labor Day will mark 3 years since my last journey; I was only like 2 in '96 though. From what I've heard though, that stuff was definitely better (& safer) back in the day.

 

I can't remember for me but probably early 2000 was last. Yeah it was a different thing back then and especially before my time but I think the good folks have died off and it went with them.

Even the folks who are local were melting and Grinching about how it’s insanely hot today. The wedding venue didn’t even have fans out or anything and I was mind blown.

Don’t worry, they gave us some paper fans! That so totally helped!

Walnut Creek is often hot but this is the first real hot weather we've had this year so we all were whining. Right now it is perfect out and is what makes this area superior as far as weather goes.

I thought the bride was going down at one point tbh. They had to bring her ice water.

I’m just impressed my eyeliner stayed put for the whole time! It even lasted thru the electric slide!

 

They made you do the electric slide in 100+ degree heat?

 

I mean, nobody forced us but I volunteered. It was like 90 and sunset at that point- so just gross out and not quite death weather.

Our table was in the sun tho, and we rallied together to move it into the shade. We didn’t ask, we just picked it up and moved it.

I may have incited this.

I definitely got a bunch of adults to revolt and move our table. The wedding planner wasn’t pleased.

Oh, and then I was trying to set my friend up with a hottie and he misread the situation and thought I was hitting on him. Awkward. So, this night has been a mixed success? Table moving : 1 matchmaking: -1
