Officially hate insurance companies! I have had accident insurance for a few years now and it has been very worthwhile with my 4 kids. In April my company switched to a new accident insurance company. Shortly after the switch I take my daughter to the Urgent Care with an ankle injury. She hurt her ankle playing soccer and I carried her off of the field to the doc. They ran X-Rays and then referred us to a specialist because there was no break. They denied my claim stating that "There was no accident" and "A lot of people hurt their ankles because they are athletes, but that doesn't mean its an accident." They also said "You just told the doctor that she was complaining of bilateral ankle pain, but not that it was from an injury." Uhhhhh...yes we did, but now I am responsible for what the doctor types in his notes? I explained that I literally carried her off of the field crying and straight to the Urgent Care. The lady told me "Well you didn't write that on the paper, you just wrote that she hurt her ankle playing soccer." WTF!!
