I think it took me 30 minutes to get my license and registration renewed in June on an Ohio Monday morning.

 

GA is so simple. I can renew online and just come in and take a photo. They mail you your permanent one in a week.

 

Every time I have been to the DMV it has been painless and that is for 3 ish different ones. Have an appointment and it is a non issue.

Hush down, anime can't drive

 

LOL. Last time I had an appointment, I had to wait multiple hours still LOL. The dmvs here are awful in my area.

I would have done one this time except they wouldn’t give me a date for a few weeks and it’s honestly just worth it to come in on a good day and wait a little longer than get an appointment that ends up on a super busy day for me where I don’t have the time to drive 2 hours round trip and wait around.

 

Weird even in the super busy long beach DMVs it was a non issue. Your DMV might just be under staffed.

 

We have kiosks at the DMV if you feel like going in, but most stuff can be done online. I have to renew my drivers license next month and I can do it at a kiosk. I don't understand why CA is such a mess. I hated it when I lived there. Even our smog checks here in TN are drive-thru, costs $9, and the pass/fail results automatically get sent to DMV.

 

Yeah my DMV is also garbage. Even with appointment it takes at least 1hr-1.5hr.

 

That's how all of the DMVs in the Sacramento area were when I lived there.

 

Yup. They are super understaffed.

I just stick to the rural one now, cause it’s understaffed, but still faster than Bakersfield on any given day lol.

Half of the suck is just that I live so far from any dmv that I can’t just drive across town to one.

Don't they do an emission check during inspection? Knock it all out in one go.
