I'm thinking of making the plunge to Linux mint mate and am wondering if I will loose anything essential other than a royal pain in the hiney called Windows ...

Also is there a way to make mint fine tune the screen size so I can move the taskbar to the external screen without it falling off the screen?

 

Download a virtual machine and install linux on it to try it out before you dive in
