I know nothing of chat rooms beyond 90s "A/S/L wanna cyber?" so maybe I'm missing something, but how can you keep him out if you don't know who he's pretending to be?

 

I have to admit, I do not know what either one of those are, so I would say, one like in the old days of AOL, where you can invite people in and you can chat by typing. I know the more this stuff is on the boards, the more it will morph and spawn other crap.

IRC is old as shit and discord is a new thing.

Those chat rooms you are talking about likely ran off of the IRC protocol or something similar.

You can have authenticated IRC servers but TH is a public website so that wouldn't work very well. A few of the private websites I use have that for the IRC channels though and it works great. (actually they have their own servers but that is overkill for our needs lol)

 

I'm pretty sure Discord is a bit more secure because someone can't get your IP address by using it

 

I always thought Dominos really improved with that campaign a few years ago. Pizza Hut is a close second, and Little Caesar's is so gross it's good. Papa John's is drizzle shits.

 

The user can protect themselves against that but I doubt most people here would know how to. tbh discord prob is better for a group of people like this.

And MTC/MTG both already had discord servers that @TissueHime ran.. it wouldn't be hard for him to set another one up.. the hard part is getting people to use it.

 

I, too, am old as shit! LOL With that said, I am willing to learn something, so, would you please explain the major differences with them from the old chats that I mentioned ?
