Honestly this is embarrassing. They put the instructions at the beginning of the qualification HIT, they ran a paid test experiment, they emailed the instructions a day before the experiment, and they put the instructions at the beginning of the actual experiment - still it was obvious some people hadn't read them. I would be smashing that block button right now if I were them.
