I get my referral fee for every bum you send to that requester's HITs thinking they're about to hit the mturk lottery.

Ehhh, it works out good for a tiny percent of the workers providing the datasets used to build the "value" of the platform.

Its not better a pay scale than survey lottery RNG & it preys on the same psychological trick those academics use to recruit workers (which is why they've asked folks to post the bonus emails to forums, lol).

If 1 user out of 25 gets a fat bonus, 96% of respondents are getting hosed. When they market their data, they're still pushing the work of the vast majority of folks.

BTW guys totally unrelated to all the above points but I'm gonna be running a monthly competition for most points on the new TV scales, winner gets $25 a badge that costs me 30s of google-fu to find an icon for.

Uh idk, you'd have to ask leafs or a6 or someone who still does 'em but last I did them they had crept up to min-wage by making the swarms more efficient but then went in the opposite direction w/ the new gambling survey method.. but I did get $2 off that sooo

There is no real way for their sports stuff to pay fairly across the board.. if you're a junkie you're going to spend an hour on the survey regardless of the bonus opportunity lol and anyone doing it solely for the money is going to be useless to them to begin with. Not really a lot of opportunities for win-win scenarios there.
