Anyone cooked on a salt block w/ a gas grill before? Just bought one on a whim b/c I saw a commercial for it & realized I have absolutely no clue why I now own a giant slab of salt..

If my husband had his way we'd be travelling the country constantly. He wants to pack it all up and move back west to Arizona or Vegas or California. Maybe we'll be neighbors some day haha

 

I have a slab o salt that the gf got for me one year. Never used it because I don't have a grill, and I'm pretty sure it would be too smoky/messy to use on the stove. I think the general idea is that you preheat in the grill for awhile then cook your food on it. Like a cast iron griddle, except made out of salt...

 

No matter the fuck up it can't be as bad as burning rice in the microwave! Good luck!

I bet @GreenMachine842 would get a kick out of this. Matt's dad has been amassing car parts for me on the farm in Georgia, so that I can keep my old bug and the jeep going forever (alsoso I can fix up the scout). There's a barn with duplicate parts and he's been driving my bug around/rebuilding part of it that was crapping out. I gave it to him before we moved cause he asked for it- turns out he didn't want me to sell it (he knew I was irritated about it. You could say I was bugged) and has been taking care of it for me so that it will be in good condition whenever we eventually end up back on the east coast. He got very excited when he found another old jeep for me entirely, cause he feels I can never have enough old cars He asked Matt if I would just want him to fix me up a little jeep so I can off road in peace. I fully expect to come back to the farm to find a horde of vehicles that are half-fixed up. At least one of Matt's parents likes me lol.

 

Can I have Matt's dad as my dad? That sounds like some deep heartfelt love right there.

 

Matt is an aerospace dweeb who works at the spaceport. We live smack in the middle of the mountains and high desert, but we are gonna move to a few miles away from the spaceport for the next year since the cabin we were buying fell thru last minute up here in the mountains.
