Yeah, totally agreed. I was around in those days too, albeit super bad at it back then, but that was fantastic.

What I do now is just transfer to AMP daily and then whenever I remember to I move from AMP to my bank. AMP is reasonably safe but mturk is not at all. The 'when I remember to' normally is every few days.

I should get myself into that habit. My personal routine is accumulate to about 200 on mturk then process to payments, and then to bank.

Your method seems a lot safer, as if something happens to your money on payments end, you have some assurances of being able to complain to someone, but mturk support is, as I believe you put it the other day, like screaming at a wall

 

I think if a corporation can remove money from my account instantly, they should be able to put it there just as quickly.

When you're paying a bill, or otherwise sending money, it's still usually through an ACH (aka slow as balls). On the sending end, the money usually stops reflecting in your account pretty quickly, but it still takes a few days to process fully. Now when you're being *sent* through an ACH, which is how payments does it, you're not going to see that aas a regular consumer until it's 100% complete. For me, if it's in their queue before the weekend I get it under "pending ACH" and it'll tell me the resolve date, but otherwise, it ghosts me until it's done in 1-2 business days.

The "new" thing people are doing is deposit by debit. What this does is credit your debit card, instead of going through an ACH. Whole process is damn near instant.

If you've ever gotten sent money on facebook, or most "send cash to friends" kind of apps, that's how it works. The instant transfer option on paypal is the same.
