I wish they would at least use post-tax income because Matt's bracket is insane here, and his salary looks wayyyyyy different after that. Getting railed by the tax man.

Also, NO, WE DON'T WANNA SPEND 50% OF HIS PAYCHECK ON RENT, THAT'S LITERALLY INSANELY BAD BUDGETING. IT'S SO STUPID! The jump in rental price is nuts. Renting a slightly bigger place could be almost twice as expensive in this town. Everyone that rents a house here has a roomie for this reason. Any of the decent houses are stupid expensive, and we just didn't want roomies at this age lol. We know a couple who lives with a (very annoying) housemate and we just can't even...we thought about it and just...unless we owned the house and wanted extra cash, NO THANK YOU. And that couple doesn't even have their roomie on the lease, cause the combined salaries would have bumped them out of the salary range. People just lie and live with roomies here a lot.

Very annoying housemate is also the sterling person who cut part of his finger off at work cause he decided safety precautions were stupid and repeatedly forgot who I was because he only ever saw me drunk- he's reintroduced himself to me a dozen times and I'm in his house like 4x a month minimum.
