Eh, not totally true, you can have stuff that's not too shabby here BUT it is highly illegal to have a gun in state parks and national forests in any state. That's a bit of a no no lol. I've run into bears, coyotes, wild pigs, bobcat and a variety of stuff, but I have still yet to see a cougar/mountain lion. I'm sure I've been around them in the backwoods and I frequent a mountain with a ton of them, but they don't seem to wanna eat me. People also more often than not hurt THEMSELVES trying to shoot bears while hiking, statistically speaking.

There are plenty of designated areas to hunt. You can't have a gun anywhere else though. Probably scared of fire more than anything.

 

I know it's some since 2010ish but it usually can't be loaded. At least for 99% of the ones I've been to in most states. They usually have a shit ton of signage about how it can be in the car but not loaded blah blah blah.

I know in some backwoods areas you CAN, but it's still not EASY to go around rando shooting wildlife unless you're in a hunting/fishing area. I know most trails I've been to have fun signage tho. Matt even ran into that a lot in Alaska. I come across stuff like this a ton:


The laws are bonkers weird with that.

 

I haven't found a good place to hunt people since the previous one was shut down.
