It's okay every now and again, but I actually kind of dislike soul food if only because it's so popular. So much of it is just super unhealthy, but people are all like "but it's our culture, we should be proud of it!" or whatever.

At least three nights a week! I have to alternate between that, black beans, and arroz con gandules (or as I call it, peas that I'll actually eat).

 

It used to be dismissed as poor people food, now it's not.

 

I learned the bugs and fish in Animal Crossing are real. As a kid, I was not sure. Until I saw one online or something. I was like "Woah those are worth 500 bells."

 

The main thing is that they used to crush lobster up whole so it was kind of gross.

There's so much more of it that people don't even make anymore. It's just grits and stuff covered in country gravy now. There are a few chefs trying to bring back the other stuff, but it hasn't really taken off.
