03/08 - Waterproof Wednesday!

That's what I think a lot of people fail to see. There's way more to beer than the default idea of "beer" only being Budweiser or hoppy IPAs. There are over 150 officially recognized styles of beer, so it's hard to say "I hate beer" because I bet a million bucks everyone could find a style they enjoy.

I also think there's also a huge stigma when it comes to beer which keeps people hesitant. Say you drink beer? You're automatically a white-trash slobbering alcoholic. Say you had an entire bottle of cheap wine with lunch? You're fancy as fuck.

I should step off this rant because I could go on and on and there's work to be done. So I can buy and brew more beer.

 

I used to be a big fan of tequila, until one day I got off work to my roommates partying. I decided I would go all out to catch up with them.

As the night progressed -I had to pee, AND vomit. I figured I would kill two birds with one stone and vomit while standing up and peeing. It got everywhere. What a disaster that was. That's how I learned not to vomit while standing up, and to respect the tequila.

Easily one of the best sophomore albums, ever.

 

That's like everybody in my family's rant about beer but between every single one of them I tried nothing beats the -taste- of wine to me, and generally I'd rather have a shot of something than a lager, an ale, a pilsner, a porter, etc.

Yep, THIS, Matt and I have very very different tastes! We go to the craft beer place in town that lets you buy them seperately so we can just make a 6 pack or whatever and everyone is happy.

Also, on the topic of bad liquor experiences, I once had too many lemon drops my freshman year of college and realized I had some dried puke in my hair sitting in a music theory class. Also that I had drunkely commented on my advisors facebook. The shame was real. Sufficed to say, I went back to my dorm to curl up and die, and haven't had a lemon drop since.

I drink liquor mostly cause of the calorie difference! I'm a tiny individual and I like the most caloric bang for my buck. And I will live and die for alcoholic cider yasssss. I love Citizen Cider and everything they make!

Some of the stuff that passes for "beer" down here definitely wouldn't cut it back home. I remember the first time I hung out with my brother in-laws, they thought I was some sort of god for the amount of watered down "beer" I could drink.

Things have gotten way, way better on this front though with so many awesome micro-breweries stepping their game up.

 

Hard liquors except Tequila have no calories, carbs, sugar or shame.

 

My dad actually has brewed his own beer a few times. or w/e you call it. I would be more interested in doing a similar process but for soda. tbh

My husband will never let me forget my 21st birthday. My family loaded me up with Tequila shots. I had zero control over what words came out of my mouth so my family learned some things about me that night. The next day, husband and I drove 4 hours to Gatlinburg for a birthday get away. Worst idea ever. I ended up with the Tequila shits. Had to stop every few miles. At one particular stop, the smell of my own diarrhea was so bad it made me vomit. My husband died of laughter right after it happened.

But when we finally got to Gatlinburg we went into the mountains and a bear came up to my car, so that was cool. Other than that, I would not recommend traveling after drinking Tequila.

 

Well look what finally showed up. I had forgotten I had that panda running.
