    Ah, so this why she doesn't want him scattered at the lake. The defiant 12 year old me totally wants to do it even more now.

    (also it sounds like I'm a being a huge douche to my mom, but we have a super strained relationship and I decided to try to be a family with her for Thanksgiving and she flat out ignored everything to do with it, so I may seem like a huge C word but also am dying inside over it so don't worry about me, I'm cool)

    My parents want to be cremated when they die, but don't want to be put on a shelf. I suggested having them scattered somewhere and letting me keep a tiny portion to put in a ring or necklace and she told me I was crazy.
    My dad just wants his ashes thrown in the woods since that's his favorite place to be.

    I like to think they could be fair and allow me to keep at least a dust of ash for myself since I won't be able to visit them in a cemetery...but I'd feel weird not respecting their wishes they if truly don't want me to keep any part of them. :emoji_cry:
