There's nothing wrong with being a little slow. If you're rushing yourself because you want to compete with someone else's time, you run the risk of not giving good data. Go as fast as you feel comfortable doing.

If I'm slow it's probably because it's got some writing in it, more than likely, other than that I'm pretty good at skimming, and recalling.

Also not sure if you're aware, but the timer is started as soon as the HIT itself is open on mturk. So if you open the HIT, but then don't start doing it right away - your times won't be accurate. There's a pause timer button on the top of the screen, or you can just F5 (refresh) to start the timer over.

You don't have to change how you work at all, w/e pace you go at is w/e pace you go at lol, its not an inherently bad thing.
1.75x actually.. basically if you're faster than RA I'm gonna need to know WTF you're doing b/c he's the fastest baseline I've seen use TV thoroughly lol

You have to remember that a good chunk of us have been doing this for over a year. Outside of things like tab + arrow keys to move around surveys faster most of it is just because every god damn survey is seemingly made from the same database of questions more or less outside of a tiny portion of 'new' questions on some surveys.

I would like to know if there is a book full of inane questions making it's way through the requesters.

There's plenty of people who have been around for a while who are still slowpokes! You shouldn't be shamed for it, though. Not everyone is the same.

There's clearly some "standard psychological questions" textbook floating around, wouldn't be surprised if it's from when they still did these type of tests on pen and paper.

This. There are standardized questionaries for certain measurements.

Croma Lab [A2A7O851QSLWZB] [Chrome, Good Internet Connection Required, Use Mouse] Predict Car Accident from a Video - $0.85 | PANDA

    Generous

    Unrated

    Unrated
    $17.09 / hour
    00:02:59 / completion time
    Pros:
I enjoyed it. Just go through a tutorial which is painless, and then "annotate" one video. Basically just hold your mouse cursor over anything that may cause an accident during a video.
    Cons:
Loading times were kind of slow for some reason. The actual task was maybe a minute tops. Most of the time was spent just waiting for things to load.

I have literally thought of that while doing the surveys caused I have noticed the same thing over and over again.
