    I'm few months "new" to mturk. I noticed a bunch more surveys are posted paying next to nothing for 10--20 minutes of work. Is it because it is slow for the holidays and they think people will grab their work out of desperation?

    I think its more the lack of work being posted right now so you just see more of the lower pay stuff.
