Yes it will. Such a notable difference. I started my laptop and my desktop at the same time yesterday for science and my desktop booted into windows in 3-5 seconds, I threw my laptop into a dumpster and started it on fire and it still hadn't loaded the os.

 

Love my ssd. I keep meaning to put an hdd in my laptop too, but I've been lazy and I have enough storage in my external hard drive not to care much lol.

 

I got a 250 just for the OS. I'm about to order an internal 7200 rpm 1 or 2 tb for storage. The prices on the bigger capacity SSDs are still pretty high.

 

I love the Samsung Pro's I have installed a bunch of 850 Pros and will be installing a 960 Pro when the funds are avail

First thing I did when I got my last laptop was remove the bluray drive and put an SSD in it's place. Got an external enclosure the disc drive and just plug it whenever I need it (which is never). Now I have two drives in my laptop.

 

did the 5's completely break and are being pulled? amount in the batch is going down pretty fast. I multitabbed them and refreshed a bunch of times. I didn't even get 1 five.

 

That's exactly what I got. The 850 Evo. Looks like the prices went up $20 bucks since I ordered too. GO DOWN PRICES@!

 

I find that the Pros are necessary unless you need for specific types of data processing. The EVO is probably the best option for most people. Saves them a little money.

 

Wait, there was a difference between the 850 Pro and Evo?

 

How much space are you using?
And how much do you actually need to use?

 

Possible Issue with Panda Crazy:

Has anyone noticed lately that sometimes when working on a batch, after the ham timer is over it remains "stuck", like still highlighted green? This used to happen before too but now the pandas seem to get stuck more often and aren't actively searching, anyone noticed what I'm talking about?

 

I have just always bought the Pro's cause the prices were negligible at the time and the warranty is a lot better on the pro

 

Yeah, that's what I was getting at with my last comment.

Large media files that will be touched infrequently (i.e., huge family videos or whatever) can just be archived on some separate drive. When you remove those from your boot drive, most people don't need more than 100-200GB.

 

The warranty and a bit of performance

 

Makes a difference IMO.

My SanDisk Ultra II failed right on the border of its 3-year warranty.

 

The Pro is better overall. There is a few things it does better, but most of them are specific to certain types of data processing. Most people don't need it because they just want their computer to boot and load Photoshop within a minute.
