i'm not going to give you medical advice. but i once got a hairline fracture on my wrist when i didnt have insurance and paid like 2k$ for a doctor to tell me to wear a soft brace and just take it easy for a while

 

I hope it heals quickly for you, but I have to ask if a fly and a window were involved in the injury?

This is precicely what I don't want to happen (although I do have insurance). If it was hurting more than it is now I'd have probably gone in already but its not bad while doing normal stuff.

Not this time, but it is the same wrist. Time to become a lefty I guess.

 

Or, an injury has displaced part of the bone and it needs to be set with a screw and cast for 12-16 weeks to prevent necrosis and failure of the thumb side of the wrist. If you get swelling or pain that persists despite complete rest it wouldn't be a bad idea to get an x-ray.

Wrist injuries can be deceptively serious, and even treatment doesn't guarantee full return to function. Nearly 20 years after I broke my left wrist and my grip strength on my left side never returned to pre-injury level.
