The ridiculous issues with e-mails should now be fixed.. New mail will be coming in hot from [email protected], so you might see new members now that they can actually get their confirmation e-mails.

 

Please tell me that you didn't use phpmailer. (It is what most people use because it is fairly and decent) Or if you do I hope you have updated it recently..

Edit: If you have updated after December 25th and use it you are fine.. assuming that updated version was made at least after the 25th.

 

Oh god no.. but I did use my personal e-mail which didn't match the domain and thus is was flagged as "probably not the person who owns the account sending the email" pretty quickly.. My spam box has like 2,000 bounces emails with a variety of "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU SPAMMER" error messages from an assortment of places.

 

Oh okay well sounds like you did it the hard but semi proper way and now that you have an email server setup fully it should be all good.

On a side note.. if you set up the email server on linux without any hand holding I would like to say that is one of the harder things to get working correctly (using a cpannel mail server doesn't count). The only thing that I've seen that is more of a pain in the ass to get working correctly is r/rutorrent.. Perhaps partly because the software is russian but it still is the best at what it does... (I don't use it anymore because it is a pain and I didn't want to set it up again when I moved servers)


Edit: When I say 'hard' I am talking about having it properly secure being hard.
