well that explains the fuckery motherboard that only has 1 sys fan but has 5 fucking fans running at full speed 24/7 unless there is a fan controller hiding in there somewhere (I doubt it)

Aha. They plug into the power supply? Because that is where I traced the cord coming of that cluster of molex and thought...does it just plug right into the power supply?

Also, if I buy a fan with a three pin, are there three pin to molex adapters that I can plug into the three pin then plug the molex into that cluster of other molex pins?

I am using the word molex like I had actually heard it before yesterday. New word for me.

Again. Bought when he was 12 with his own money. So yeah, not the best computer because he had a mean ass mom who refused to buy him ANOTHER computer because the one she got him for school wasn't "fast" enough for his video games.

Molex is a cable that comes directly from the power supply so yes that is from the power supply.

Yeah you can buy adapters from 3pin to molex.

It would make more sense to just buy a fan with what you need in the first place but adapters do exist.

Yeah, imagine how expensive they seem when you're twelve and your weekly allowance is like $5?

He had to earn that money doing other things. And he did. And he saved up and asked for "donations" as gifts vs. physical gifts. While his computer might suck, I am pretty proud that he found the resources he needed to buy a computer on his own at twelve years old.

Now the kid makes bank for his age really. He has more money in a bank account than many people do.
