I by no means know much about the IT field, only have second hand knowledge from an old roommate, but I was under the impression that you had to dig caches to make sure everything was on the up and up with the server or whatever

 

Are we hosted on a Colombian based server? It would explain the subject being brought up twice today so randomly and why the site is always so peppy then crashes in activity for a few hours then back up again in the AM to do it all again.

We probably have the smallest userbase of any of the public mTurk forums.. even more restricted since no one could get an account activated through e-mail for the last 2 weeks lol.

This week has kind of been an anomaly traffic wise (I assume lots of folks coming back to mTurk to recover those Holiday funds).. and idk what folks put in their morning coffee 'cause when I came back from the doc the thread was already at like 37 pages lol.

Should be less traffic now that we can't auto link from MTG every morning (RIP Wimplo).. That usually sent a pretty substantial bit of traffic here. God bless their souls wherever they may land now.

 

Hows that HN traffic? I'm betting like 95%+ of your total.

You should get your site added to turkopticons home page. It might not add any new traffic but it's something.

I guess that also means I should finish those guides up sometime soon for when we do get the influx of traffic.

 

What do you mean? MTG is up and running efficiently for the last 2 days.

 

It still accounts for less referral traffic than MTG, which is super interesting. Idk if someone is PM'ing people on MTG or what, maybe he didn't #nolink back far enough, iunno.

HN traffic is also generally awful quality. They come, quickly go "fuck all that reading" and head directly back to whence they came. I should post the stats some times its actually kind of neat. HN has the highest % of truly new people though, which is cool.

 

I actually prefer this site because it is so small. It feels more welcoming and connected. I'd get lost over at MTC.
