Well he is trying my Chromebook but there are not words to describe how much this man hates change. I am going to be heaing about this nonstop for weeks

 

I was baffled by how cheap laptops are these days. You can get a low end laptop from Costco or somewhere and then throw an SSD in there and it will feel WAY quicker than it is.

 

If you are replacing a desktop would it make more sense to replace that with another desktop?

but yeah I wouldn't bother to repair something that old.

Chrome OS kind of sucks for power users if he actually need to work on it. It is plenty for web browsing and shit though as I'm sure that you know.

 

Yeah if you are just web browsing I doubt that most people would have issues with budget laptops these days once you add an SSD if it doesn't already have one.

 

I have a friend who will only buy Chromebooks. I dont know how he does it. I need Windows to do 90% of everything I do. Chromebooks have their place in the world. Bathroom redditing, and porn.

If you can do everything that you need to do in a browser chromeOS is perfect. I even suggest it as a good option for a laptop to take with you to go along with a proper desktop but I personally would never want it was my only computer.


On the other hand most of us here are at least a tiny bit 'power users' compared to the average person. Most people can likely get away with a phone doing most of their computing so
