    True. I've got a ton of hours in Rimworld but got sorta burnt out at the 1.0 release. I've just played Dwarf Fortress for years now so I always end up playing games of it.

    Rimworld is much more modern with way easier mod support to fix issues you have..plus it's fun to set up theme games in Rimworld. I had a blast with an alien/marine game world for a while. If I would stop being lazy and finish up my darksun dnd mod I might go back for a few hundred more hours.

    If you like colony games it's worth it. There are mods to fix many of the small issues and total overhauls to change the game up. I've done Alien/Marine settings (was no predator mod at the time). Lord of the rings, Call of Cthulhu mods, etc.

    Some new content is dropping soon and the expansion is later this year so I bet it goes on sale often. My wife and I have done everything in the game with over 400 hours so far and we still play it regularly.... been getting a bit more out of it lately as we've been swapping up weapons and learning different ones.

    But I love my Hunting Horn/Lance and it's hard to swap ;(
