01/16 - Once Wednesday!

Anyone know how to break the cycle where pins are telling you to slow down? I had to let one expire that didn't load and now all of them give me the "You already have tasks" message. I let a ton run through and then tried again but no luck.

 

Wait 30 minutes.

 

Gotta just stop the panda, let them expire and start again.

How many Pins can you do where it says you missed a golden question? I want to get better at them but afraid of doing anymore now.

 

Not sure, 1 or 2? I haven't missed on these, not sure it exists for them. On the others I am usually booted after seeing the message the first time. But then you can work them again when a new batch is posted.

 

Yeah, I wonder how many you have to do before the bonuses kick in? I can't do 313 of 'em the way Cal Gal did.

 

Not if I want to make any good money for the day. I think I'm too concerned with tricking the AI, I check it every time and try to trick it, and that is just not good for business.

 

Hmm, I've missed 2 out of 10 HITS. I read the instructions / examples three times. Guess I'm just bad at these.

Quick question before I go back to lurking, but am I missing something about what makes these Joe Lo hits as good as the reviews give it? I only have links next to the stock names in my hit window and I have to manually open each one to look at the stock history. And for 88 stocks that seems kinda crazy.

 

They don't want accurate predictions, they want your intuitive guesses.

 

are you guys marking as N/A the 3's that aren't solid color, but they are so close up they look like swatches? or as blurry? like if they have stripes or whatever.

 

You mean like just blindly guess? My problem with intuitive guessing is how I have to manually open a new tab if I want to even glimpse a preview of the stock.

 

The variable's name unless it was changed was 'gut feeling' or something like that.

 

They don't pay well enough to put that kind of effort in.

Pros:
IRB Approved: Dr. Peggy Stockdale and Tuyen Dinh of the Psychology Department at IUPUI (Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis, its a real school TIL) so at least it shouldn't reject.

Cons:
The pay is awful, but the time estimate is legit impossible to HIT. You'd have to fall into a coma at the start of the HIT.

Probably half of this was sitting on a timed reading page, then 1 page with a small handful of sliders then demographics which had more questions than the actual survey.

Really annoying that not only is the time accurate horribly inaccurate but they couldn't toss an extra dime onto the reward amount to at least make this worth looking at. As is its underpaid.

Well I suppose if they still pay out with minimal effort I can see why people would rate them highly.

 

The requester does not want you to put effort in? If they wanted economists working on mturk at like 4 AM, they'd've put a qual on it a long ass time ago.

 

Yeah that's a fair point. I just have a bad habit of over thinking things.
