I know folks are up in arms over them, but those Zoltars used to take 15-30s/ea for me. You can hop on their TV page & see what I wrote about that exact HIT months ago. Which means even at 5c a piece someone can still make minimum wage or the "slave wage" of 6/hr just with kada's old script and familiarity.

Granted they probably still get capped at 200, but those will get done by someone w/ work ethic and/or an electricity bill due next week. Hopefully the intern at Google fixes 'em first though.

Now for anyone who drops in today:

If there was ever an opportunity to learn how javascript & work ethic can make MTurk garbage into gold (..or in this case nickel plated zinc), that batch sitting there is it.

There will likely never be a better opportunity for a batch that has a pre-existing optimization script to sit there to test, fiddle, and improve on w/ a live workflow. Go grab Kada's script ( https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/14986-project-endor-zoltar ), do 5-10 of those HITs, figure out where it can be improved & go ham. it wont make anybody rich today, but its unlikely anything will, and in my 2-3 years around here I cannot think of a more obvious learning example at a better placed time (weekend) to learn what it takes to be one of "those people" who makes $100/day on MTurk batches consistently.

Its perfectly fine to look at those & be annoyed that they're 1/2 the pay, its perfectly fine to not do them for that reason, but if a worker can't even fathom how they can be done at a 8-10/hr clip (which is reasonable for filler work in a bind, although these cap so they're absolute trash at that price) MTurk is gonna be rough sledding lol.

Not everyone can do everything on MTurk. That's totes fine. You can survive w/o it, but all I'm saying is if there was ever a prime example of how people do batch work consistently those things sitting there rotting are it. What you can learn on that garbage pile by deconstructing someone else's work & making it better will serve you well on the batch that comes along at $80/hr w/ a script.

Pay rate should be based on what a normal person can do while JS masters should profit by making them even better.
