LOL. Its so easy to forget how good you actually are w/ technology comparatively when you're surrounded by folks who are, in general, pretty good w/ tech themselves.

Matt once called me from work, asking me to tell him how to do something on a Mac.

Man, we got there eventually, but it was rough!

 

tbf macs are evil and I'd have no idea what to do with one either

 

Well, I knew what to do from having owned a mac, but I couldn’t remember the exact names of anything (and now have Windows) so I was like, “ hit that one button at the top left of the screen!”

He was not amused.

 

If you can figure out linux, you can figure out mac. Just pull up the terminal and it's pretty much the same. Most mac users probably don't even realize how much power user exists in OSX, but all the stuff people like on linux is in there.

Ok lesson 1 .... if you reply to someone it is hijacking their post so i guess no replies are allowed so I am stuck at what to do now.

 

It took me a while to stop intuitively using DOS commands in terminal, but yeah. It's nice sometimes, but I hardly use it. I took a server class a while back and we basically only used linux-based stuff, so I had to learn to slap myself on the hand every time I typed dir instead of ls (both work though), chdir instead of pwd, cp instead of copy, etc.

 

Can so relate to this, learned BASIC around 12 or 13 I think. 30 YEARS AGO. I, to this day, have a hard time not using goto and gosub.
