Cursing a lot can get sometimes get in the way of truly offending someone

Even with the fact he didn't break her hymen, there are so many other ways she could have been violated. The parents wanted it to be "okay" and "not sexual" so they could keep being swingers or whatever tf they were doing with him. They had some sorta weird fascination with him, when a sane parent would have pressed charges, not waited five fuggin days to report her missing, and not fucked him for 8 months after he returned the kid.

 

You typically won't see me curse on here. One slipped out one time and then I felt bad about it. Then CT made me feel worse about it. Hasn't happened since.

I have to add this as a child of the 70s and close to the girl's age. Maybe they didn't really know. Back then, this was not discussed. I knew things were happening to other kids from other kids, but the parents NEVER believed it. I don't think they were capable of believing it. Or if they were, YOU DID NOT DISCUSS IT. So combine being super naive, believing the best in people Mormonism and not talking about it. Could it be missed? Yes. Yes it could, and yes it was, for real. I have stories that I won't share but trust me, loving parents missed things. I also know for us little girls it was not abnormal for us to have perverted older guys hitting on us and we just looked away from the bumps in the pants if we saw one. It wasn't super often, but it happened often enough that I was just grossed out, not shocked.I also didn't fall for it, though. Others did.

 

My husband is going to kill me, I lured 4 kitties in with hot stew and have them in the 3 seasons room on a heated blankie. It is 17 below outside, I'm sorry but I just can't have that.

 

I've been doing some moderate hate speech HITs, and my usual route there is mentioning how hate speech (besides being likely to get censored) isn't really the most effective way of making a point, assuming there's a point you're actually trying to make. So like, from an economic/efficiency point of view, there's plenty of good reason to keep it clean.

Even if the goal is to make someone feel bad, just busting out a bunch of curses is rather lazy and toothless compared to some of the other stuff one could come up with....

you don't just "know" something like that and let him off on his merry way. there were so, so many ways for everything to stop so, so much sooner. i'm a firm believer that pedophelia is just a straight up defective brain, like serial killers, and they should just be like, yo, sorry, you were born defective, you have to be locked up forever now, bye. and there were so many chances for that to happen. oh my god, i raged so hard when the little meowwy offed himself, fuck. no. you don't get to take yourself out after ruining so many lives

i'm pretty thick skinned and i can't recall a single time i ever turned anything off or put down any book that made me uncomfortable, but the "just the tip" part just about made me turn it off. i was legitimately sick to my stomach at that part.

as for being naive, i was half "man those were some fucked up times" because i know someone who was affected similarly around the same era... and half nope, nope, nope, this can't be normal in any year, any religion, for any reason. i don't think the mother has an ounce of remorse in the least, she even had a few sick smirks. the father did seem remorseful but yeah, like bun said, he knew and let it happen, and just, no.

 

Congrats on your 4 new cats. Don't forget to take them to the vet to get them vaccinated and spayed/neutered.

There is a huge difference in going "okay, nothing happened" if he had just slept in the bed during that weird 'therapy' excuse and dude running off with the child. He married her and demanded to do so in the USA.
