02/04 - Tencent Tuesday!

Honestly, my main motivation is for me. It started out for my kid as when he was really little he got so excited about all the lights and decoration. And then I kept buying more (or was given more, people just give me stuff now, lol). Now he says he likes it but doesn't care much (teenagers) and I am the one in love with the lights. I feel so good when I come home and see them all sparkly and happy. Instant emotional and mental health boost in the right direction.

However, my Halloween and Christmas decor has become famous in the neighborhood. I had no clue how many people go OUT of their way to see them until people started commenting when I add new things (they notice that? What? Wow!) and tell me they look forward to them every year. So while it really is done for a selfish reason, to make me happy, I'm glad others enjoy it and I hope I can keep it up for a couple of more decades before it becomes too dangerous for me to be standing on ladders

 

Just make your kid do it. All of it. Builds character.
