Glad to hear they are as good live as I had hoped! Derek knows his way around the guitar, that's for sure!

I hope you have so much fun! I hope String Cheese has a bluegrass vibe for ya, I always hate when they get all dubby because it's just not my cup of tea. Enjoy Umphreys for me! I ended up seeing them 9 times last yr... I may be a little obsessed. Their NYE shows were absolutely delicious--debuting a new song from their new album at New Year's was AWESOME. Take some video and send it to me if you can find a way!

 

They're doing 2 sets, so is Umph, so I really hope string cheese does some of their older stuff especially.

Shameless plug for a band that started in my college town but they're playing at 4/20 fest as well, and have some pretty similar vibes to Phish/Umphrey's in some of their songs. I know Phish is one of their big inspirations musically. They're called The Orange Constant, they're on youtube/spotify.

I'll have to check them out! I always love finding new bands to vibe with. I saw this amazing tribute band recently--they were called My Blue Sky and they covered Allman Brothers and Gov't Mule stuff. DUDE. They were freaking INCREDIBLE. Their guitarists were amazing, both their drummers were fucking awesome, just everything about them was spot on. They played some originals and they were pretty freaking awesome too if you ever wanna check them out.

That's awesome! I will definitely check them out. I LOVE the Allman Bros. I got to see Gregg in 2014 at Music Midtown, so glad I got to see him before his health took a turn. We've lost too many good ones recently. I saw a Tom Petty tribute shortly after he died, and man was it good but gut wrenching at the same time. Never got to see Tom, one of my biggest regrets was not seeing him with Stevie Nicks a few years back.
