02/07 - Transitional Tuesday!

I'm going to cry...my one shot at VacationRentalsAPI and I can't figure it out....

 

That one took me < 10 minutes to find, so realistically if you can't get it, you were never going to make good money on them anyway.. I'm not sure if that's consolation or not.. but forreal, the qual is being opened because the folks who already have thousands of them under their belt don't find them worth the hourly to do them. Just marinate on that for a bit and you probably wont feel as bad.

 

less than 10 minutes? Do we all have the same one?

I guess that helps, but I still thought they were a great qual to have, I thought @Tripsa and @Jesicu made bank on them.

 

I've got it in OW so hopefully it will pop up tonight or tomorrow.

 

It would be just my luck to get one that ISN'T solvable...

 

Just grab that qual for the VacationRentalsAPI. I think I tackle that one in the morning since it has a 2 day timer.

The gay couple? Its the one I've seen everyone else mention. I already have the qual, I just tried to find it for kicks n giggles and yeah, probably a little under 10min to get the addy for it.

The HITs used to pay 5x what they do now, I think it was $8 + $1-$3 bonus when I first got it. They're now $2/ea base. Its possible to eek out >$20/hr on them if you know what you're doing (even more if you're a God like Jesicu), but compared to the $100/hr they used to be.... well

Having the qual is for sure better than not having the qual.. but its kinda like Pi Search lol. You also lose it for submitting even one incorrect HIT, typos included. All I'm saying is don't get upset/flustered by it, definitely try to nail the HIT and get it done correctly, but don't let it ruin your day otherwise

Thats some BS. First of all he started scraping all the dead easy HITs out of the batches, then he went with this tiered pay approach. He puts the batch up at the lowest price he can possibly muster, then increases the next batch by a fucking quarter after the first round expires. Its possibly the most insulting shit I've ever seen a requester do on mTurk, lol.

ETA: Excuse my salt. Some things just drop below the belt of decency IMO.

I trash talk them a lot, but they're still good work by mTurk standards. I can make >$20/hr, they're engaging and mentally stimulating, and while I disagree with his methods the requester is a super nice dude. I have nothing bad to say about him as a person for sure.

There's just something that shoves a stick up my ass about the .25 "raise" thing man, idk what it is lol. The theory honestly isn't even awful.. but I dunno, having a quarter "thrown" at me like that just triggers the repressed stripper inside me I guess
