Thank you for your reply...I have 176 approved HITs so far, with 90% approval rate...I ran across some that wrecked my score...but I still believe I should be able to see HITs for which I am not qualified. That is how I can see the qualifications...I have seen several posts with link to Amazon demographic qual tests but they are not available to me...

The good news is that I finally was able to "catch" a HIT from MLDataLabeler....that confirms to me it is possible but does not explain why it is so hard to catch....can you explain more how to set up a watcher ?

176 is far to low to see most of the stuff people on here are posting. You'll start seeing more once you hit 1000, 5000, 10k+ level of HITs. At you're level, it's best to looking for survey work but grind the low level stuff as much as possible. I was doing basically $0.02, 0.04, even 0.01 level HITs when I was there. It sucks, but it does get better the higher you get.

Kind of like MLD (which I'm glad you got one, it might be a qual test HIT so do it carefully) sometimes the requirements to even see a task are not completely visible. As in, it may not populate because it has a hidden rejection rate (which 90% approval is also really low, you need to get that up to 95% ASAP) or abandon rate. MTurk is not the most transparent of platforms on the worker side.

 

Oh. As far as setting up a watcher, you'd want to ask one of the people here who use the MTS HITFinder. I use QBC so it's a different beast.

 

I highly recommend doing Ben Peterson's HITs for now until you get more approvals- i did almost exclusively his HITs because he doesnt reject work and it will help get your numbers up. Pays .03, but once you get to 500 even there is more available to you for higher pay. I am on day 9 and im excited to get to 1000 HITs so i can see even more!

you should use MTS to see all of the hits available. just scanning the amazon page isn't very effective. The finder works way better and sometimes I will even leave it on when I'm not around just so I can drop stuff into my catcher later because a lot of hits get reposted later. not all, but probably more than half.
