This is solid advice. I hate Valentine's Day with a true passion but the only thing I hate more than acknowledging it is feeling forgotten. Matt once fell for that trap and I ended up walking the cat while drinking wine and crying. Sufficed to say he came home early with a handmade card.

In case you're thinking to yourself, "Bullshit! No way she walked her cat in public!"

 

If you walk your cat a lot you should get one of those snazzy cat harnesses.

 

Anyway folks, I am off, I made even my weekly goal of $1.50 in half an hour. See you next week.

He FLIPS OUT with a harness, drops dead to the ground and never got used to it but he wears a tiny dog collar on the reg and seems to be totally fine walking on that, zero struggle. We only go out in the yard sometimes at this point, he's super not an outdoor cat and the only times he's bolted out the door he looks really panicked before he bolts inside and hides behind my legs. He was a feral kitten and I think he saw some shit cause he only wants to go out with me or not at all. My cats are freaks. I would like to make it clear my cats are not the ones that destroyed my macbook, that would be Matt's demonic hell beast.

If you start harness training them when they're young then it's generally not a problem. My cat handled it fine. As adults, they play dead and usually if you just leave them in it they will eventually get up and walk around. Sometimes it takes several hours of them laying on the floor meowing pitifully and smacking their tail on the floor. I've helped a few people harness train their cats.

Yeah, my rabbit was a big fan of the harness. My vet said it really wasn't a problem if he was on his tiny dog collar since his primary motivation for going outside is to sit in my lap in a sunbeam. If he wanted to be more active I'd worry more about getting him on a harness but he's pretty chill. He's not much of a runner and we have the whole farm if he derped out but at the moment he likes to go out once a month or so and sit with me and then he's like, "Hey! Back inside now!" I once took his collar off to clean it when he had a reaction to flea meds and he wigged out big time and whined until I gave it back. My cat is really weird.
