To block hits I already completed. This is for surveys of course. I also use it to block giant batches of surveys that I can't even repeat.

Sounds like you are putting a lot of effort into something that can cost you money. I've seen plenty of requesters reuse groupIDs for different surveys.

I don't block all group IDs. Only carefully chosen ones. Specifically group IDs from requesters that spam, have big bold warnings to not repeat, etc.

I've done this since MTS went public from kadauchi, never had problems and my mturk dosh goals have not suffered in any noticeable way.

 

That actually blocks by title and it is possible for other hits to use the same one.

 

That blocks by name, which I does not work out when a lot of requesters are creatively bankrupt and use the same names.

 

That's a lot of steps considering before I could just click a hit from logged hits and copy and paste from the newly opened address bar for the project ID. I don't even use panda crazy, it kills my PRE.
