The thing here is the specific "We're down and working on it" message you receive on the MTurk website. When AWS causes issues like this, its generally a different kind of error screen you get - not a template page created by the website but a more generalized error

 

I wish I could have given you a on that one too. I feel like they've waited too long to fix things and Prolific already has Connect copying it.

are you getting the actual message on AMT that its down (little square box message) or is this something else?

 

Anecdotally: I hammer on the site all day every day, with Hit Forker, Panda Crazy and Panda Crazy Search running all at the same time, and I've only seen the website unavailable thing a handful of times. It seems to affect different people in different ways, or not at all, based on who-knows-what.
