Dear mini human makers.. which genetic tests did y'all do / not do? Apparently CF carrier testing is like >$1k which holy moly lol, but most of the others are a lot more reasonableish?

 

Broken GeoHIVEs, Computer Vision still their entire worker pool (with a qual now) softbanned. What is this fakking madness?

I didn't do any to be honest. I was 7.5 months along before I found out, soooooo. lol I did do extra sonograms to be sure there was no cleft palates and that mini leech was forming properly. BUT if there is a serious medical history that could potentially show up when the baby is born there's more of a need. We did not have a medical history in our family like that, so it wasn't justifiable.

 

Haven't they done that for a month now?

I think genetic testing is only worth it if either side of the family has a history of serious medical conditions, otherwise most normal people just YOLO.

 

Yeah it's been about that long. It's stupid because they sent me a qual about two weeks ago and plenty of other people but everyone is still softbanned. It's like they have their fingers jammed in their ears and keep on uploading. Idiots

 

I didn't have any done. They told me my son was going to be born with Edwards syndrome and wouldn't live longer than a few hours anyway. They told me that all the way up til he was born. They had 6 doctors in the room with me, just waiting to take the baby. Praise the Lord, he was delivered happy and healthy. But, I didn't see a need for any other tests.

 

My dog's genetic test was inconclusive and we're pretty sure he was spawned from a garbage dump in a slimy gestational sac much like one of Saruman's Uruk-hai.

 

it just keeps getting weirder.

 

Now that is a fanfic I could really dive into.
