I just got back from being afk because I was at my accountant's. And he couldn't tell me if I'd be better off or worse off this year due to the new tax laws so I may REALLY REALLY REALLY need more money than I think I'll need from turking this year if I'm worse off. They have to put all my numbers into their fancy computer before they can tell me anything.

I did my own taxes and I owed for the first time in years. I got back to my CPA who I've used in the past and she put me in the black on my taxes. If you dont use a CPA and you have fairly complicated taxes, its worth the cost. I was owing 210 per Turbotax. My CPA was 250, so technically she only cost me 40 bucks. Worth it.

I use a CPA. I have complicated taxes. Costs me around $400 per year, but I also write that off as a business expense because if I didn't have my rentals I wouldn't need a CPA because the IRS has made tax laws around rentals so effing confusing it's impossible to figure out or keep up with them if you're a layperson. (That $400 includes all my taxes, including turking, rental, normal payroll and anything else random that comes up...so not a bad deal!)
