Yeah I was mostly just curious b/c surely we'd seem them in a whole food like mushrooms, right? That was/is surprising to me, unless it's isolated to canned, which do have little floating bits and whatnot.

 

I dunno. The underside of a mushroom has all those fanfolds and curls into itself sometimes. Maybe we wouldn't?

I mean, maggots are mostly in decaying plant matter/meat/poop. Mushrooms aren't decaying. Therefore, they are unlikely to have (very many) maggots.

 

tbh there's probably fruit fly larva in a very surprising percentage of the fresh fruit you eat

 

I do eat my apples straight off the tree sometimes, but I eat apples with a knife because teef issues.
