Software development, I'll be paying about a grand a month in student loans(hopefully I'll be able to pay extra though to pay it down quicker since it's 60k) and STL is a medium(?) COL area. I'll have to let them know that's acceptable then! It's a contact to hire position but they plan to keep applicants as long as they aren't terrible. It's a company that was bought by panasonic and needs all their systems redone from the ground up.

I'll check that! I do have bad knees and diagnosed mental illnesses so that could ramp it up. I think I'll be okay.

When Matt was debating between current job and the other offers he had, the place he is at now went in FOR THE KILL SHOT by offering me insurance/dental/vision and they pay the premium. It had been breaking pretty even between the other places as the ones without full benefits were paying a good bit more, but his current job was smart AF to know he was gonna go ahead and pick a company that was a good fit for his entire life. He technically makes a little less than he would at a couple of the other places, but not having me meltdown over insurance costs and new glasses pretty much sealed the deal (the flexible days off helped too). From what I've seen, they swayed a decent amount of engineers over with similar offers and they pride themselves on "employee appreciation," so they have a super high retention rate.

I'm just amused that I became a negotation point derp derp derp! I need glasses! derp derp derp!
