Yep! I'm from NYC originally, and it's pretty hard not to appreciate the Metro after that!
Did you ever take the Metroliner from NY to DC? Maybe that was a bit before your time.

Ah yes, DC trains were fricken sweet, tho I will always have a soft spot for the insanity that is the LIRR. The other day, I told my friend, "this is the plan now so either get on board the bird train or get out of the way!" and he burst out laughing cause , "I'm from California, not Long Island, we don't get on the train! What does that even mean?!"

Huh. Been in CA all my life and I use that phrase a lot. Maybe it depends on where in CA since it's a ginormous state?

We board trains here! Many of them! Not just metros but the AmTrak is popular, too. and in the SF Bay Area, it's all about the (many) trains.

Edit: And South Bay. Many take trains up to SF to work from there.

 

Yeah, I know. : ( It sucks being in different time zones. I just prefer to do them before I head to bed and then do them again in the morning. I sleep late on the weekend, so that's why I missed most of this batch.
