I totally agree with you. I have been more forceful in making sure that problems are handled now but I have been known to say some pretty harsh things under duress and I ultimately just wish that I didn't have to go to that extreme before things are taken seriously. I only hold my tongue now when I feel like I'm being too nit-picky.

And he was reprimanded that night about his TV volume. Granted, we can be a little loud because of the sound bar with our TV but sometimes we can't even tell unless someone tells us. I will respectfully turn down the volume in the middle of the day if I need to but if you don't say anything, I'm just going to assume the volume doesn't bother anyone. It's definitely not done on purpose. And it's definitely not past quiet hours.

I personally do use wireless headphones if I can't sleep or I wake up and want to watch TV out of respect for my SO more than anything and I don't have to compete with the sounds from the furnace. The headphones with him, however....we're working on it. We finally got him to use headphones 90% of the time he wants to be Mozart (for some reason, in the spot he chose to put his keyboard, the sound travels down our stairs like being in a tunnel and you can't even hear our TV at normal volume when it happens).

I guess I'm just sick of venting to my SO for the time being and this seems like an ok safe space to do it. LOL especially for any advise from outsiders because I feel like a broken record to them.
