    It was originally geared toward low income families. I guess if they couldn't afford a crib. It's actually not a terrible thing to have. I could see it working if for some reason the kid stayed overnight at a relative's maybe? Safer than laying them on a bed and surrounding them with pillows and I would assume better for them than just sticking them in their carrier to sleep all the time.
