    Sorry I didn't see this until today since I've been doing all that renovation stuff.

    I buy a 50lb back of feed for $13ish and it lasts me roughly 2-3 weeks but I only have 9 hens.. There is some variation because I give them a lot of our table scraps/veggie cuttings.

    As far as illness I never have had many issues honestly...they can get mites (which if they can dustbathe thats usually something they handle)

    They can also get something called black comb, but that's easily fixed with some medication added to water and it seems rare...I've seen it once in my entire life but I could have just been lucky.

    Most of our hens lay daily to every 2 days. I missed 2 days of gathering this weekend and had like...16 eggs.

    Of course, before you get chickens read up on the type available around you. Some lay daily, some every 2-3 days...it's breed-specific. Our easter eggers are almost daily layers, and so are the cochins I have. The gold-laced wyandottes seem to be an every 2 day layer. Our sultan, however, seems to be...maybe once or twice a week.

    They are great low maintenance animals though. Ours are pined up because of wild animals and the like, but I let them out around 30 minutes or so before dark every day so they can run around and forage for a bit. They are fun to interact with too because they are like little ravenous piggies and will chase you down if you have a snack for them.

    For sure hit me up if you have any other questions...I'm not an expert obviously but I have a lot of real-world experience with them.

    It was kind of cool. When I first watched it my brain said, "They showed her grave" but then I thought naw, huge cemetery they didn't. But when I went back and looked it was immediately clear to me that they did.

    The cemetery is unbelievably gorgeous, it was designed to be like a park with huge monuments and mausoleums, so it's no surprise when someone chooses to film there.
