03/08 - Waterproof Wednesday!

We only had a couple of cocktails with our dinner but iirc they were about $14 each. Of course the entrees were $40-$60 so ours was more food than drinks.

And that's why I almost always prefer to cook. If I'm going to eat outside, I go ALL OUT and spend a lot of money. Not very good for my bank account lel

 

Steak and bacon is always worth it

 

And a big yawning good morning folks! Looks like you all are having all kindsa fun this morning!

 

So what I have gathered this morning is:
1) I am poor
2) I don't know cool people
3) I need more of both
4) Need to move back to Vegas to accomplish 1 & 2.... but need 1 for 4.... and I just hurt my head

 

At a nice restaurant a drink easily be 10-15 each. A drink or two at the bar before dinner and then a couple with and after adds up quickly.

 

But you know us?

 

Dude, an 8 dollar cocktail or 6 dollar beer, add a few in for each person and you've spent a good bit. Even with house liquor , I'm lucky to find something like 6 bucks for a vodka coke outside of Clemson.

I know what you mean! I don't like eating somewhere where the food is meh cause it feels like a waste. Since I do all the cooking, we have an agreement where Matt feeds me once or twice a week via grilled cheese, frozen pizza, chinese take out, or date night. I try to take him out like once a month on my dime as well since he makes vastly more than me and I like to make him feel all special by insisting Yes, you can have those beers! Matt doesn't really mind spending 50+ on a dinner date since I do everything for him at home and haha.

Heck even at shitty/chain restaurants drinks are expensive. Liquor at Chili's is like $7 for well.

Don't hate, I love me some poorly microwaved honey-chipotle chicken lol.

God I miss college. $2 bourbon, $400/mo rent. I'm so sad you're practically always sketch living in a college town from ages 28-50ish.. Then at 60's you get to retire to the lake and just sit in your fav college bar during the day and be the cute old locals who tip well but don't understand what college kids these days are wearing.

 

I'm the only one that cooks so if the wifu wants to do something nice, we go out to eat on her dime. The other reason of not eating out too much it's because I've worked in a couple of restaurants and I don't like some aspects of what happens in the back of the house. Call me health freak but I know what goes on.

Ugh...caught a hit to summarize a conference call into bullet points. So far the first ten minutes are two dude-bro's™ talking about incredible busy it's been but it's like totally cool cause I volunteered and wow that sounds awesome dude like really super awesome....

 

Headed to Dallas this weekend for spring break with the kids and friends. I'm thinking Texas de Brazil may be the best bet price wise. Adults $46 all in. Kids under 6 $5 and 6-12 50% off.
